DPRD to Follow Up on Aspirations of Jalan Tulodong Bawah Residents

The Jakarta Legislative Council (DPRD) and the Jakarta administration are about to follow up on residents' complaints living on Jalan Tulodong Bawah and Widya Chandara, South Jakarta.

If we have received complaints, there must be a solution

Complaints from residents who live on these two roads relate to the existence of restaurants and cafes which cause traffic jams, water waste, and noise.

Jakarta DPRD Chairman, Prasetyo Edi Marsudi said that along with the Acting Jakarta, he would follow up on residents' complaints.

"I will talk to the Governor to find concrete steps. If we have received complaints, there must be a solution," he expressed, at City Council Building, Monday (11/27) night.

According to him, the Jakarta administration needed local income from various community businesses. However, these efforts should not conflict with the interests of the general public.

"It can't work if they (restaurant and cafe owners) want to win alone. The administration needs local income, but we must also look at the source of the income obtained," he explained.

Jakarta DPRD Commission B Chairman, Ismail proposed conducting a field inspection regarding complaints submitted by residents of Jalan Tulodong Bawah and Jalan Widya Chandra regarding problems with parking orders, traffic jams, waste, and noise.

"If there are true indications of a violation, according to the applicable regulations, strict sanctions will be imposed up to the revocation of the business license," he said.

Jakarta Investment and One-Stop Integrated Service Agency (DPMPTSP) Secretary, Iwan Kurniawan uttered the complaint following Government Regulation Number 5/2021 on the Implementation of Risk-Based Business Licensing and Investment Coordinating Board Regulation Number 5/2021 on Guidelines and Procedures for Supervising Risk-Based Business Licensing which regulates the supervision of technical compliance and administrative compliance.

"Several related OPDs will re-collect data to inform the Jakarta DPMPTSP for follow-up by the Ministry of Investment Coordinating Board (BPKM)," he stated.
